Welcome to the Wound Management Clinic Web Page Mission StatementThe Wound Management Clinic endeavours to provide the highest holistic quality of nursing practice to all patients attending this department. Department ProfileDepartment Description This is a primarily nurse led clinic, in conjunction with our interdisciplinary team. There is 1.7 staff, Mary Conroy R.G.N/T.V.N (Tissue viability nurse specialist) full time post and staff nurse Sinead Dennehy R.G.N/Hdip T.V.N (22hours) plus student rotation on a regular basis. We provide Plastic specialised clinics 3 times weekly with Mr.S.T.o'Sullivan and Mr.E.J.Kelly for post operative patients.
We also provide consultations with both surgical and medical consultants.
Services Provided Wound assessment and management programmes, including topical negative therapy, larvae therapy and ankle brachial indexes. Specialised post plastic surgery e.g. grafting, cosmetics. We provide advice and education for patients, families and hospital staff. Over the phone advice for primary care team GPs, Public Health Nurses. External Referral Process For new patients from G.P and Public health nurse contact the department by phone as Wound Management Clinic has limited direct referrals. Location The Department has being temporally moved. It is still located on the ground floor. Enter via main reception walk past the shop keep left and straight through the double doors, signage is in place.
